About Us

My name is Ellen (Tracy) Smith. I reside in Michigan with my wonderful family. I am a 37 year young Stay-At-Home-Working-Mom to four great children and have been married for 16 years to the best electrician I have ever known. My family is my laughter, adventure, trials and partners on my trip around the sun.

I got the name MAMA from my children's initials. They are my four stars! My life consists of chauffeuring to Sting Travel Baseball games (this is an awesome group of talented boys & fantastic parents!), soccer, football, school field trips, as well as many school and church events. I am serving my third year as PTS president for my children's school, am on several committees at our church as well as Communications Director for the Genesee County Chapter Board
for Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
Yes, life is crazy and hectic but most of all, IT'S FUN!

Once the children are grown, I hope to one day turn this little web-shop that is home of the Original Life Candles™ and Life Lamps™ into a quaint country store resembling a rustic shed. I'd like it to be a place where people can feel at home while smelling the candles, browsing the products and sitting down to chat while sampling the coffee and baked goods.

While building my clientele before opening a store front, I work as a staff member at Prim Mart - the internet's original and largest marketplace devoted to primitive arts and crafts! It is also the sister site to my websites hosting company. At Prim Mart, I work as Swap Coordinator along with a wonderful lady named Sheila. We organize gift swaps throughout the year for Prim Mart's online message board community. If you'd like to read a bit more about the staff click here. I have also added two other jobs to my resume.
I am a writer for Creative Times™ Magazine
and Beneath The Willow Tree News.
Both are FREE downloadable magazines to inspire your crafting creativity. Each one offers new insight into the creative world of crafting for fun and profit. These magazines offer tips, patterns, fun, featured store or crafter and so much more! The column I write for in CT is entitled, "Creativity Corner". I will be giving ideas on how to get creative with new projects, as well as instructions, patterns and recipes for new projects. In BTWT, I write the "Creative Contests" and also various themed articles found in the news magazine.

I am thrilled to be given the chance to grow my business as well as work with the awesome staff at Prim Mart, Creative Times and Beneath The Willow Tree. I feel fortunate to be able to pursue these things that I enjoy!

A little tribute to my Grandpa, Gail F.B. Jones. This man was not just Gpa and my birthday buddy for the past 34 years, but also my neighbor and a wonderful person. He passed away due to diabetes, Alzheimer's/dementia, and calcification of the heart. He fought a long, tough fight and finally was given peace on Monday, April 16th. It was a delight to watch how Gpa's face lit up each time he saw my children. It was almost as if he wasn't sick at all. The kids gave him moments of joy during his difficult times. I am thankful that we were given the opportunity to be with him his last night on earth and to let him know just how much we all love him. Although we had prepared for this day for over two years, you're still never really prepared. So please, don't waste time. I know that it's said so many times, but you always think you'll have another day with those you love. Let them know how much you love them. Every moment that slips by is a moment wasted. And just what if you never get that moment back? Don't regret not saying, "I love you!"
